**This festival has been postponed for a date to be determined.

Athens, Ga. – WUGA-FM 91.7, the public radio station operated by the University of Georgia, will present the 2015 Athens Jazz Festival, a daylong free concert featuring local jazz musicians, on May 16 from 1-7 p.m. on the lawn of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

Among the performers in this year’s concert are Classic City Swing, a 17-piece big band; singer Mary Sigalas; UGA jazz professor David D’Angelo, a veteran of the Buddy Rich band; and Carl Lindberg of the band Grogus.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring this great musical event back to Athens through our partnership with the Georgia Center and through the generous support of its underwriters,” said
Jimmy Sanders, WUGA’s General Manager.

The 2015 Athens Jazz Festival is sponsored in part by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the UGA Performing Arts Center, the Hugh Hodgson School of Music and Buffalo’s Café.
