Auction to benefit UGA Art School MFA program

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art will present an art auction featuring the work of faculty, alumni and students on Thursday, Feb. 12, beginning at 7 p.m. at The Globe located in downtown Athens at 199 N. Lumpkin Street.

The work for sale will include several pieces from Janice Simon’s African art collection in addition to numerous other pieces. All sales will benefit the Master’s of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition. The School of Art is in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at UGA.

The artwork is on display through Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the School of Art’s third floor Suite Gallery (silent bids are being taken during this time.) If the “end the bid” or “buy it now” price is reached, all bidding will cease and the high bidder will own the artwork.
