Baldwin-Wallace College sells art

Baldwin-Wallace College, a liberal arts institution in Berea, Ohio, recently sold 1,700 donated works of art for about $1.4 million, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

College officials, who said they couldn’t properly care for or display the pieces-including a lithograph by Roy Lichtenstein-auctioned the art at a Cleveland, Ohio, gallery. The proceeds from the sale will be used to establish a $100,000 endowment for the college’s art department as well as to finance capital improvements at the institution, the Chronicle reported.
