Benefits open enrollment ends Nov. 7

Employees interested in changing health insurance, dental insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, long-term disability insurance and flexible spending accounts for 2009 have until Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. to submit changes to Human Resources either by paper form or online at www.hrconnection.com.

For employees who elect to make no changes, no action is required, but those interested in medical and dependent care flexible spending account programs must re-enroll each year using the PayFlex Web site.

UGA offers five health plan choices for plan year 2009: Indemnity, PPO, HMO (two plans), and HSA PPO (high deductible). This year, the HMO offers two choices: Blue Cross Blue Shield or Kaiser Permanente. The new pharmacy benefit manager for the Indemnity and PPO plans is Medco.

MetLife replaces Blue Cross Blue Shield as the dental plan administrator, and the dental plan will be open for enrollment, even for those who have declined coverage in the past. For those who currently have UGA dental insurance and elect not to make changes, no action is required.

Human Resources is available to answer questions about benefits choices at benefits@uga.edu or (706) 542-2222.
