Campaign for Charities finishes strong

UGA  raised more than $420,000 for service agencies—many of them in the local area—through its annual charitable giving campaign. The 2012 Campaign for Charities total of $421,958 was 97 percent toward the goal of $435,000, and approximately 20 percent of UGA faculty and staff members participated.

“We understood that a goal of $435,000 was ambitious,” said campaign chair Tom Jackson, vice president for public affairs. “But to get this close to our goal speaks volumes about the level of commitment from our faculty and staff and their demonstration of this year’s theme–Sharing shows Caring.”
