Candidates for UGA registrar visit campus

Athens, Ga. – Four candidates for the position of registrar at the University of Georgia will visit campus between Aug. 22 and Aug. 29.

Rebecca Macon served as registrar from 2003 until her retirement in June 2011. Jan Hathcote, a veteran administrator at the university, has served as interim registrar while a national search was conducted. Jay Mooney, associate director for student financial aid, has chaired the search committee.

The candidates will make a public presentation to the university community in addition to meeting with administrators and members of the search committee during their visits.

The candidates and the schedule of their presentations are as follows:

Aug. 22 – Karen Jarrell, assistant provost and university registrar at the University of Texas at Dallas, 10-11 a.m., Miller Learning Center, room 250.

Aug. 24 – Douglas Burgess, university registrar at the University of Cincinnati, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Miller Learning Center, room 250.

Aug. 26 – Rodney Parks, associate registrar, University of Georgia, 10-11 a.m., Miller Learning Center, room 250.

Aug. 29 – Carla Boyd, associate registrar, Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, 10-11 a.m., Miller Learning Center, room 250.
