Carl Jordan, professor emeritus in the Odum School of Ecology, received the 2012 Governor’s Agricultural Environmental Stewardship Award for the Northeast Georgia region. He is one of five finalists from around Georgia for the statewide award, to be presented on March 13 at Agriculture Day at the state capitol.

The Governor’s Agricultural Environmental Stewardship Award is given annually to recognize exceptional efforts by agricultural producers to protect and conserve Georgia’s natural resources.

Jordan was recognized for his work at Spring Valley EcoFarms, where he has conducted research, outreach and education in organic and sustainable agricultural practices since 1993.
