Chair established in gaming studies

Bing Gordon has been named the first holder of the Electronic Arts Endowed Faculty Chair at the University of Southern California School of Cinema-Television in Los Angeles. Gordon is the founder, chief creative officer and executive vice-president of Electronic Arts, the world’s leading video game publisher. The chair will be filled every one to two years by a leading figure in interactive entertainment, who will join the faculty as a visiting professor. Gordon is no stranger to academe: he co-taught a course on video game prototype design at Stanford University, and serves as a trustee at the Urban School of San Francisco.
