Check state’s weather, drought conditions

EITS site covers campus

Georgia’s availability of water is of vital interest to all. To monitor the most current drought, rainfall or other weather information, UGA operates the Georgia Automated Environmental Monitoring Network online.

Established by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the site includes current weather conditions, historical data, a water balance calculator and other data for weather stations across the state.

Each station monitors conditions including rainfall, wind speed, wind direction, soil temperature at varying depths, atmospheric pressure and soil moisture every second and summarizes data every 15 minutes with a daily summary compiled at midnight.
