As part of Heart Health Month, the University Health Center is offering cholesterol screenings for UGA faculty, staff and emeritus employees as well as their spouses and domestic partners. A total cholesterol screening will cost $10.
Screenings will be held Feb. 14-17 and 21-24 from 8 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. No appointment is necessary and participants should not eat anything after midnight the night before the test. Participants should bring a valid UGA ID and drink plenty of water so that they are fully hydrated when their blood is drawn.
Results, which will be sent in the mail, will include a lipid profile with a breakdown of HDL/LDL (the “good” and “bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides. More information is available at (706) 542-8690 or www.uhs.uga.edu.
