Committees formed to ID candidates for two deanships

Search committees have been formed to identify candidates for two dean positions at UGA.

Provost Arnett C. Mace Jr. has appointed committees to conduct nationwide searches for permanent deans of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural ­Resources.

Scott Angle, dean of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, is chair of the committee for the family and consumer sciences search. Sheila Allen, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, is chair of the committee for the forestry and natural resources school.

Both committees include faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Mace said the goal is to have both positions filled early next year.

In addition to Angle, members of the committee for the College of Family and Consumer Sciences are Karen Baynes, Donald Bower, Tammy Gilland, Joseph Goetz, Katy Gregg, Judy Hibbs, Patricia Hunt-Hurst, Mary Ann Johnson, Renita Jones Anderson, Meredith Barrs Potter, Becky Price, Beverly Sparks and Josh Zaffos.

In addition to Allen, members of the committee for the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources include: Michael Clutter, Scott Merkle, Karl Miller, Ronald Hendrick, C. Rhett
Jackson, Peter Bettinger, Robert Izlar, Douglas Peterson, Sarah Covert, Robert Ratajczak, Hugh Lentile, Paula Whiting, Dan Forster, Gene Martin, Earl Barrs, and Wesley Langdale.
