Court overturns prior MCAT decision

An appeals court ruled that California students with learning disabilities will not receive extra time on the MCAT, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

Students with disabilities such as dyslexia won a chance to spend extra time on the test in 2004 through a court challenge. Now the test, which is required for entrance to almost every medical school in the nation, will use only one nationwide standard for all students, the Chronicle reported.
