Dependent benefits audit

The University System of Georgia Board of Regents is conducting a dependent benefits audit. All UGA employees and retirees covering dependents on their health insurance plans will need to provide proper documentation to the auditing firm Chapman Kelly.

Letters from the firm have been mailed to employees’ home addresses and will contain instructions on the proper documentation to provide. If employees fail to provide proper documentation, medical coverage for enrolled dependents will be terminated.

Employees may drop ineligible dependents from their plans.

The goal of this review is to remove all ineligible dependents from the plans. The amnesty phase of the audit lasts until April 21 and the verification phase is April 30 until June 30.

Employees not covering dependents will not be affected.

Additional information on the audit is online at www.hr.uga.edu/benefits/bor-dep-ins-audit.html.
