Deryl Bailey, Courtland C. Lee Social Justice Award

Deryl Bailey, an associate professor in the department of counseling and human development services, received the 2011 Courtland C. Lee Social Justice Award from the Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision.

Bailey was recognized for creating and directing Empowered Youth Programs. The annual award is presented to a member of SACES who demonstrates the pursuit of social justice in at least three of the following areas: community involvement, student involvement, research and writings, advocacy and grants. The award was presented in November at the ACES national conference in Nashville, Tenn.
