Severe weather drill set for Feb. 9

As part of Georgia’s Severe Weather Awareness week, a campus-wide test of UGAAlert, the university’s mass emergency notification system, will take place between 9 and 10 a.m. Feb. 9 as part of a statewide drill.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to physically execute their severe weather plans during the drill.

During the test, the phone number reflected on caller ID will be (706) 542-0111. Those with caller ID are encouraged to program this number into their cell phone so it will display as a UGAAlert emergency call in the future.

In the event of actual severe weather, the drill will be postponed until Feb. 11.
