EcoFocus to screen FRESH at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia

Athens, Ga. – The EcoFocus Film Festival, an initiative of the University of Georgia Odum School of Ecology and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, will present a screening of the film FRESH on April 7. The film, which begins at 7 p.m. will be preceded by a reception at 6:30 p.m. with beverages, local appetizers and live music.

FRESH is a film about farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are reinventing the food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for the future of food and the Earth.

The event will be held at the Callaway Building Auditorium at the State Botanical Garden in Athens. Tickets are $8 for Botanical Garden members, $10 for non-members.

The garden is located at 2450 S. Milledge Ave., approximately one mile south of Exit 6 on Hwy 10. Upon entering the main garden entrance, signage leads to the Callaway Building. For detailed directions, see http://www.uga.edu/botgarden/infodirections.html
