Eight UGA employees retired March 1, 2024

Eight UGA employees retired March 1. Retirees, their job classification, department and years of service are:

  • Mark R. Brown, professor, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, entomology department, 38 years, 7 months;
  • Sayed M. Hassan, senior research scientist, Office of the Vice President for Research, Center for Applied Isotope Studies, 27 years, 8 months;
  • Yen-Con Hung, professor, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, food science and technology department, 38 years, 4 months;
  • Karla M. Johnson, administrative associate II, Office of the Vice President for Marketing and Communications, 35 years, 1 month;
  • Charles D. Seymour, senior accountant, Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, finance division, payroll, 14 years, 7 months;
  • Benito Staromana, public service assistant, Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach, Small Business Development Center, 10 years, 7 months;
  • John Ivan Waller, facilities manager II, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Tifton Campus, 8 years; and
  • George R. Zimmermann, database administrative manager, Office of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, information technology, 26 years, 7 months.
