Emergency response training

The spring class of the UGA Campus Emergency Response Team training program will be held March 16 through May 4, and class sign-up will go through March 12.

The eight-week class provides free emergency preparedness training to UGA faculty, staff and students. Held on Tuesdays from 2:30–5 p.m., the class will teach participants about disaster psychology, search and rescue, fire safety, disaster medical operations and how to recognize the signs of terrorism. Topics will be discussed through classroom training and hands-on scenarios.

The grant-funded program is being presented by the Office of Security and Emergency Preparedness in conjunction with the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department. For additional details, visit www.osep.uga.edu or call OSEP at (706) 542-5845.
