Faculty Artist Series season concludes March 19

Maggie Snyder, professor of viola, will conclude this spring’s Faculty Artist Series in Ramsey Concert Hall at the UGA Performing Arts Center on March 19 at 7:30 p.m.

Her performance, “Women’s Works for Viola: Past Present and Future,” will feature existing works by Rebecca Clarke, Ruth Gipps.and Kalitha Dorothy Fox.

The program will also feature three world premieres, including “And a Cry Came from the People for viola and piano” by Mary Kouyoumdjian, “Variations on a Feeling (Chaconne) for viola alone” by Tessa Lark, and the winner of an international call for new works, Sakori Dixon Vanderveer’s “Bagatelles for Strings, I. Prelude.”

Tickets are $3 for UGA students with a valid ID and $15 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at music.uga.edu or by calling the box office at 706-542-4400. The UGA Performing Arts Center is located at 230 River Road.
