Faculty development workshop

A two-day faculty development workshop for infusing sustainability into academic curricula at UGA will be offered May 9-10. Applications are due March 1.

The faculty-led workshop will provide opportunities for cross-disciplinary interaction, definitions and examples of sustainability education, discussion of learning outcomes and student engagement and tours of on-campus sustainability resources. Participants will have the summer (until Aug. 13) to revise an existing syllabus or create a new one.

Stipends of $500 are available for up to 20 participants—$250 after the workshop; $250 upon submission of a revised or new syllabus at the end of the summer. Proposals are accepted from all current UGA faculty.

The workshop is offered by the Committee for the Integration of Sustainability across the Curriculum with support from the Office of Vice President for Instruction, the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Odum School of Ecology and the Office of Sustainability.
