Four finalists have been named for the position of associate provost for international education. They will be on campus for interviews and meetings with faculty and staff.
Each candidate will lead a presentation open to the public from 9-10 a.m. in Room 214 of the Miller Learning Center. To ensure that sufficient seats are provided, those planning to attend should contact the Executive and Faculty Search Group at execsrch@uga.edu or Matthew Reiter at (706) 542-3283.
Finalists and the dates they will be on campus are:
• June 15: Larry Gales, academic director for international programs, College of Business, University of Cincinnati;
• June 17: Douglas Kincaid, vice provost for international studies, Florida International University; and
• June 22: Steve DePaul, director of global initiatives, University of Texas.
The fourth finalist, Tanya Saunders, dean of interdisciplinary and international studies/director of international programs, Ithaca College, visited campus June 10.
Garnett Stokes, dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, chaired the search committee that recommended the finalists.
“These four finalists were selected out of an extremely competitive group of more than 156 candidates,” said Stokes. “The committee was pleased with the depth and backgrounds among the candidates in the pool and deemed these finalists to be the most highly qualified.”
