First-Year Odyssey program director

The Office of the Vice President for ­Instruction invites applications for the position of director of the First-Year Odyssey program that will be launched in fall 2011 to engage first-year students in the academic culture of the university.

The director will lead recruitment of faculty for the FYO seminars; represent the FYO on campus and externally; identify and partner with campus offices to support the FYO seminar program; organize and maintain communication with FYO advisory committees; and provide budget oversight and leadership for evaluation and assessment of the seminars.

The director will be a tenured UGA faculty member with skills to lead a university-wide instructional initiative. Knowledge of assessment practices is strongly preferred. This is a part-time position reporting directly to the vice president for instruction.
