Four Grady College deanship finalists to give presentations

Four finalists for the position of dean of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication will visit campus in February to meet with members of the university community.

A search committee chaired by Sheila Allen, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, conducted a national search to identify the finalists. The committee was assisted by the UGA Search Group in Human Resources.

Each finalist will make a public presentation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Reception Hall (Room 135) of the Tate Student Center. The finalists and the dates of their presentation are:

  • Michael Evans, interim dean and associate professor, Indiana University School of Journalism, Feb. 14.
  • Jeffrey Springston, associate dean for research and graduate studies and professor, UGA’s Grady College, Feb. 18.
  • Charles Davis, professor, University of Missouri School of Journalism and facilitator, Mizzou Advantage program, Office of the Provost, Feb. 25.
  • Derina Holtzhausen, director and professor, Oklahoma State University School of Media and Strategic Communications, Feb. 27.
