Freedom Breakfast tickets

The seventh annual Freedom Breakfast
honoring the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. will be held Jan. 15 at 7:30 a.m. in Grand Hall of the Tate Student Center. The breakfast speaker will be the Honorable Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore, retired Superior Court Judge of the Fulton County Atlanta Judicial Circuit. This year’s breakfast theme is “The Power of the Dream. . . Where Do We Go from Here?”

Recipients of the President’s Fulfilling the Dream Awards will be announced at the breakfast, which is open to the public. The awards recognize individuals from UGA, the Athens area and surrounding counties who have made significant efforts to carry on King’s work. Tickets to the breakfast are $18 each or $144 for a table of eight. The deadline for submitting ticket request forms is Dec. 22. After that date, all tickets must be purchased in the Office of Institutional Diversity. No tickets will be sold the day of the event. Seating is limited.

The breakfast is sponsored by UGA and the Athens-Clarke County government and school district.
