Georgia Museum of Art to offer comics-focused Teen Studio

Athens, Ga. – In conjunction with the closing of the exhibition “Beyond the Bulldog: Jack Davis,” the Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia will hold a Teen Studio night focusing on comics on Jan. 3 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Teens can join Robert Brown, co-manager of Bizarro Wuxtry comics store, on College Avenue in downtown Athens, director of the Teen Cartoon Club at the Lyndon House Arts Center and an artist himself for an evening of discussion and projects as well as free pizza. Space is limited so reservations are required. Call 706/542-GMOA (4662) to reserve a spot or email Melissa Rackley, coordinator of community programs, at mrackley@uga.edu.

“Beyond the Bulldog” focuses on the original works of famed cartoonist and illustrator Jack Davis, a graduate of UGA. It closes Jan. 6.
