Georgia Museum of Art wins five awards

The Georgia Museum of Art won five awards from the Southeastern Museums Conference: honorable mentions for the exhibitions “Material Georgia 1733–1900: Two Decades of Scholarship” and “Mary Lee Bendolph: Quilted Memories”; a bronze for digital marketing for our Daily Inspiration series on Instagram (in the technology competition); an honorable mention for publication design for “Material Georgia”; and Best in Show for publication design for “Deborah Roberts: The Evolution of Mimi” (co-published with Spelman College Museum of Fine Art and very nearly out of print).

Marilyn Laufer, guest curator of “Carl Holty: Romantic Modernist,” received the James R. Short Award for museum professionals, the most prestigious recognition of service to the museum profession in the Southeast.
