More than 500 volunteers are needed for the Nationwide Tour’s Stadion Classic at UGA, a professional golf event to be held at the university golf course April 28-May 6.
Volunteers are charged a $45 fee ($35 for full-time students) to help defray some of the volunteer-related costs, but all will receive a gift package valued at more than $250 that includes clothing, tickets, food and passes for complimentary golf.
For those interested in being a standard bearer, who accompanies each group of players carrying a scoreboard inside the ropes during play, the fee is $15. Standard bearers will receive a package including clothing, ticket and food valued at more than $100.
Net proceeds from the event will support need-based scholarships for UGA students. In addition, local nonprofit beneficiaries will receive 100 percent of revenue from advance sales from four-day tournament passes purchased through the Regional FirstCare Tickets Fore Charity program.
