Grad School establishes new award

In preparation for its centennial, the Graduate School has established a new award to recognize excellent graduate education practices at UGA. The inaugural Award for Innovation in Graduate Education will honor innovative thinking and advanced practices in graduate education.

Any college, school, program or department offering a graduate degree at UGA is eligible to submit a nomination by the Nov. 13 deadline.

Programs can submit the nomination in the form of a three-page letter addressed to Dean Maureen Grasso. Nominations should include the name of the individual or group submitting the proposal, their affiliation with the Graduate School and a description of the innovation.

The winning program will receive $1,000 that can be applied to any expense that supports the recipient’s graduate education program.
