“Hunker Down with Housing” is looking for faculty and staff volunteers. As an early move-in initiative sponsored by the Department of University Housing, the program helps to ease the congestion and confusion of move-in weekend, which runs Aug. 10–13.
Interested faculty and staff may volunteer for any time allotment; however, more volunteers will be needed on the earlier days. Primarily volunteers work outside greeting new students and their families, answering questions, giving directions to area parking lots and venues surrounding campus and assisting in various other move-in activities.
A brief training session for all volunteers will be held from 6–9 p.m. on Aug. 9 in room 101 of the Student Learning Center. To volunteer or learn more, contact Matt Edwards at (706) 542-6533 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
