Kellogg Award nominations

The deadline for applications for the 2009 Outreach Scholarship W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Award is Jan. 15.

To apply, submit a 500-word abstract that summarizes the engagement partnership. Include two or three examples of project impact that summarize what has been accomplished by the project and answers the question, “What difference does this project make?” Applicants also are encouraged to include photos that help to tell the story in their applications. Submissions should be sent electronically to Trish Kalivoda, associate vice president for public service and outreach, at tlk@uga.edu. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by a selection committee and featured online at http://outreach.uga.edu. If selected as UGA’s nominee for the regional award, the applicant will be asked to complete the full application by March 2.The Web site for the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges has additional information including an application request form, www.nasulgc.org/NetCommunity/Page.aspx?pid=807&srcid=304.

Two projects will be submitted by UGA President Michael F. Adams for the regional award. Regional winners are considered for the national C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award.
