Google Inc.’s Internet launched a project this past December that will make books and government documents available and indexed on its Web site. The ultimate plans are to create a digital library of public domain books and documents from the New York library and Stanford, Harvard, Michigan and Oxford university libraries. This project is expected to take years to complete, and the company has experienced bumps in the road by lawsuits due to copyright infringements.
