Maria Navarro, assistant professor in the department of agricultural leadership, education and communication, received the National Adviser of the Year Award from Sigma Alpha national sorority, an organization that promotes women in agriculture. Navarro also won the Early Achievement Award from the Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education, an organization that supports worldwide agricultural and extension programs.
