Athens-Clarke County mayoral candidates will debate April 24 at 6:30 pm at the Athens-Clarke County Library on Baxter Street. The event is open to the public and is hosted by WUGA-FM, the public radio station operated by the University of Georgia.
The debate will be moderated by WUGA’s Alexia Ridley.
The candidates are Kelly Girtz, current District 2 commissioner; Richie Knight, community activist and co-owner of HW Creative Marketing; and Harry Sims, former District 2 commissioner.
The event is one of several mayoral debates in advance of the May 22 election.
