Athens, Ga. – Due to the ongoing government shutdown, Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper will be unable to travel to the University of Georgia to deliver the 2013 Fall Charter Lecture Oct. 16 at 11:15 a.m. in the UGA Chapel. The lecture has been postponed until future notice.

The Charter Lecture Series, sponsored by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, was established in 1988 to honor the high ideals expressed in the 1785 charter that created UGA as the first state-chartered university in America.
