Media advisory: UGA president speaks on the first day of classes

Athens, Ga. – Monday, Aug. 12 marked the start of fall semester classes at the University of Georgia. With 35,000 students from all 159 counties, 50 states and 121 countries, UGA is truly a flagship institution of higher education.
