Regents approve new engineering degrees

At its Feb. 7 meeting, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents approved new master’s and doctoral engineering degrees for UGA.

The decision follows a vote in late 2010 for the university to begin offering new undergraduate degrees in civil, mechanical and electrical engineering. The first civil engineering majors will enroll this fall, followed by mechanical and electrical engineering majors in 2013. At present, there are approximately 600 engineering students at UGA.
