New Financial Management Education Center opens

Human Resources has created the UGA Financial Management Education Center for retirement and financial planning as well as other educational services for faculty, staff and retirees. The center will use the counseling expertise of four UGA senior benefits counselors, Teachers Retirement System resources and vendor representatives from the Board of Regents Optional Retirement Plan. The initiative is the result of an October 2006 University Council resolution requesting more financial and retirement planning education and resources. It is also an effort to comply with new regulations relating to employer-sponsored retirement plans and assisting faculty and staff in ensuring they are adequately prepared for retirement. Appointments for personal counseling and guidance with financial and retirement planning counselors can be made online (www.hr.uga.edu/benefits/fmec_main.html).
