The physics and astronomy department will host its monthly observatory open house Nov. 9 from 7:30-9 p.m. on the fourth floor of the physics building.
While the department’s 24-inch telescope is under going repairs, smaller telescopes will be available to view double stars, open clusters of stars and the Andromeda Galaxy from the roof of the physics building. The department also will be showing two videos from the Carl Sagan Cosmos series in Room 202, the main lecture hall in the physics building.
Observatory open houses are held monthly during fall and spring semesters. For more information, see www.physast.uga.edu/observatory/schedule.
