The 223-space Oconee Street Park and Ride lot is now open and will feature regularly scheduled transit service to and from the Park-n-Ride along Oconee Street and Lexington Road on bus routes 22, 25, 26 and 27.
A new “Route 23, Oconee Street Park-n-Ride/Downtown Express,” directly to UGA and downtown, will depart from the lot every 20 minutes during peak hours on weekdays, (7-9:30 a.m. and 3-5:30 p.m.), during the academic year. Additional bus routes will provide access several times an hour, in each direction, from 6:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Transit service will be reduced during the summer months and UGA breaks.
Funded by a $2.4 million FTA discretionary funds grant, the site includes green initiatives such as solar-powered lights and rain gardens.
