The Office of Institutional Research won three awards at the October 2009 annual conference of the Southern Association for Institutional Research. OIR received two first place awards for the print and electronic versions of the 2008 Fact Book (40th edition), edited by Marsha Allen. OIR’s Web site (www.oir.uga.edu), which was recently redesigned by Steve Quinlan, took second place at the conference.
The association is dedicated to the advancement of research leading to improved understanding, planning and operation of institutions of post-secondary education. The association provides a forum for the dissemination of information and interchange of ideas on problems of common interest in the field of institutional research. In addition, SAIR promotes the continued professional development of individuals engaging in institutional research and fosters the unity and cooperation among persons having interests and activities related to research.
