Princeton adopts open-access policy

Nearly all research articles coming out of Princeton University will be available for free online thanks to a new open-access policy unanimously approved by the faculty, The Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

The policy moves Princeton in line with Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other institutions that encourage or require researchers to post journal articles in a free forum. Faculty can request a waiver for certain articles, and the policy does not apply to unpublished drafts, books and lecture notes.
