Rally to mark Campaign for Charities’ midpoint

A celebration to mark the midpoint of UGA’s Campaign for Charities will be held Nov. 5 from 2-3:30 p.m. on the Sanford Drive side of Reed Plaza, just behind Memorial Hall. The event, held as away of saying “thank you” to all those who have made early gifts to the campaign, will be held rain or shine.

Light refreshments will be provided and special guests will include Coach Mark Richt, the UGA cheerleaders Hairy Dawg and Uga VIII, newly collared at Homecoming.

In addition, several agencies that are assisted by the contributions of UGA faculty and staff during the annual campaign will be on hand to discuss the vital work of their organizations in the local community (see story).

UGA’s Campaign for Charities kicked off Oct. 7 with goals to reach $435,000 in contributions and to have 25 percent of the faculty and staff participate. The campaign runs through Dec. 17.
