UGA, Athens-Clarke County team up for recycling happy hour

Athens, Ga. – The University of Georgia Office of Sustainability and WUGA radio, along with the Athens-Clarke County Recycling Division, will host a “Recycling Happy Hour” on April 19 from 5-7 p.m. in the UGA intramural field parking lot off of College Station Road.

The spring cleaning event invites students, faculty, staff and the general public to bring hard-to-recycle objects including electronics materials such as computers, televisions, phones, cords and cables; batteries; fluorescent bulbs; Styrofoam; and used cooking grease.

Those who bring recyclables will receive a Coca-Cola product.

The event is part of UGA’s Earth Week celebration. Persons interested in volunteering for “Recycling Happy Hour” may email sustain@uga.edu. For more information, see http://www.sustainability.uga.edu/site/featured/earthweek.
