Report: Average student takes five years to earn four-year degree

Across the nation, students are taking longer to earn their degrees, according to a recent report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center.

On average, students attempting to earn their bachelor’s degree take a little more than five years to do so while those striving for an associate degree require more than three years. Not surprisingly, the report also found that students who transfer to other institutions during their academic careers take longer to complete their degree requirements.
