Robot completes college course

Bina48, a sentient robot created by Hanson Robotics, successfully completed a college course at Notre Dame de Namur University in California. The course, which was on the philosophy of love, was taught by William Barry, an associate professor of philosophy and the director of NDNU’s Mixed Reality Immersive Learning and Research Lab. Bina48 has received a lot of media attention since its creation and has been heralded as the most sentient robot ever created.

As part of the course, the robot participated in class discussions via Skype, debated students from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and even delivered a presentation with another student in the class.

Barry hopes that the robot will eventually be able to teach a course of its own.
