Ron Courson received Eagle Award

Ron Courson, director of sports medicine and an adjunct instructor of exercise science, received the Eagle Award from the American Optometric Association. The award is presented annually to a non-optometrist who significantly promotes sports vision and vision training to the public.

UGA’s director of sports medicine since 1995, Courson currently is the president of the Southeastern Conference Sports Medicine Committee and chairman of the College and University Athletic Trainers’ Committee of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is also the liaison for the National Athletic Trainers Association to the American Football Coaches Association.
