Save energy while commuting

For an energy-saving, sustainable commute, UGA’s Office of Sustainability suggests taking the bus, carpooling or biking.

Athens Transit is free to all members of the UGA community. Simply swipe your UGA ID card when you get on the bus. The buses are equipped withe bike racks. Bus schedules are available online, www.athenstransit.com/. Park and Ride lots are located at Wal-Mart, 4375 Lexington Road; the Gateway Shopping Center, 484 North Ave.; and Georgia Square Mall, 3700 Atlanta Highway.

Parking Services’ Alternative Transportation Program provides parking passes for two free parking days per month for those who primarily use alternative means of transportation. Parking Services’ Extreme Green Program was created for registered Super Low individual Carbon Emitter commuters that would require them to use their ATP passes for medical, personal or special reasons instead of the typical one or two uses per month.
