Sous chef earns silver medal at competition

Congratulations to Oglethorpe Dining Commons Sous Chef Robert Clark for his achievement at the UMASS Amherst Culinary Conference.

Clark competed along with other chefs in a culinary competition, and their team earned an American Culinary Federation-sanctioned Silver Medal.

The UMASS Amherst Culinary Conference is a renowned platform that provides the college and university dining community with hands-on training, education, insight and collaboration with scientists, culinarians and operators.

Clark competed with chefs from the University of Guelph and North Carolina State University. The team was in need of a fourth member, and Clark stepped in at the last minute. Their challenge was a hot food mystery basket competition where all of the items in a secret box had to be used in the menu, in addition to other competition criteria.
