State Botanical Garden accepting donations for Friends of the Garden Flea Market

Athens, Ga. – The State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia is accepting donations from the public for its annual Friends of the Garden Flea Market. Acceptable items, including furniture, books, toys, garden supplies, linens, jewelry, can be dropped off Aug. 13-17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily at the botanical garden, which is located at 2450 South Milledge Avenue. Pickup is available for large items. Clothing items will not be accepted.

The flea market will be held Aug. 18 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the botanical garden’s Visitor Center and Conservatory. Admission is free, and the event will be held rain or shine. All proceeds will support the botanical garden’s numerous projects and displays. Any items not sold will be taken to various charitable organizations around Athens.
