The Miami Herald questioned Horace Newcomb, director of the Peabody Awards, about the popularity of Miami Vice 20 years ago, and the effect of that popularity on the city of Miami. “You can’t talk about Miami Vice without talking about MTV,” he explained. “Miami Vice was seen as MTV with a narrative focus.”
